Scrub Island Resort Partners with HoneymoonWishes to Enhance Honeymoon Getaways and Destination Weddings

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS (Feb. 26, 2014) – Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, the newest luxury private-island resort in the British Virgin Islands, has partnered with HoneymoonWishes, the leading honeymoon registry company, to change the way couples are handling honeymoon registries. Brides and grooms-to-be can now forego the usual blender and china set by registering for what they really want – the perfect romantic, honeymoon experience at Scrub Island Resort in the BVI.

After registering for a complimentary account at ScrubIsland.honeymoonwishes.com, couples can access a registry template pre-populated with a variety of practical, romantic, relaxing and adventurous suggestions to enhance their wedding or honeymoon at Scrub Island Resort. Similar to a store gift registry, the resort registry allows couples to register online for various components of their honeymoon or destination wedding. Instead of asking for a crock pot, newlyweds can suggest an upgrade on their honeymoon suite, a couple’s massage or a private helicopter tour, among other experiences.

“Our new honeymoon registry showcases the resort to visiting couples, but also alleviates some of the stress of planning and funding their trip so they can focus on fully relaxing and having a wonderful time,” says Scott Ward, director of sales and marketing for Scrub Island Resort. “And gift givers will love that they can purchase something as special as a Royal Swim Adventure with Dolphins, drinks at One Shoe Beach Bar & Grill or Signature Eterno Massage at the award-winning Ixora Spa for the bride and groom.”

Scrub Island Resort’s honeymoon registry also offers a free wedding website program where couples can create a personal wedding website and share wedding details, including their proposal story, photo albums, wedding and reception information, details about their honeymoon registry and other bridal registries. Couples can also include information and travel details for out of town guests. The wedding websites even include a free RSVP feature for attending guests.

HoneymoonWishes was founded in 2003 by Kristin Stark and her now husband, Lee Cornwell. Recognizing that many couples already had their favorite toasters and towels, Stark envisioned a bridal registry centered on honeymoon specific gifts and experiences. A honeymoon registry gives couples a gift registry option through which wedding guests can help newlyweds create memories to be cherished for a lifetime.
