On Dec. 31, 2018, The Ardent Companies, through a $41 million investment, replaced First Bank of Puerto Rico as principal lender. Mainsail Lodging & Development will continue to operate the resort under Autograph Collection® Hotels, a member of Marriott International’s industry-leading portfolio.

As a part of the relaunch, many improvements have been completed in the hotel’s 52 rooms and suites, as well as the collection of 10 villas, ranging from two- to six-bedroom floor plans. Resort dining options were rebranded featuring fresh concepts at the newly named Donovan’s Reef Marina Bar & Grill and Scrub Island’s signature dinner restaurant, Cardamom & Co.
