TAMPA, Fla. (August 15, 2017) – The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously today to approve plans to develop a multiuse tourism sports facility on an approximately 224-acre County-owned parcel of land located in the Wesley Chapel area, including a Residence Inn which will be owned and operated by Mainsail Lodging & Development.

The Residence Inn by Marriott offers spacious studio, one- and two-bedroom suites, with complimentary wireless Internet, pool, fully equipped fitness center, sport court, outdoor area with fire pit, meeting space and rooftop bar. The hotel also offers daily complimentary hot breakfast, evening socials featuring complimentary food and beverages, and is pet-friendly.

“The vision was to create a first-class, multiuse sports destination focused on amateur sports tourism to provide economic impact while serving the regional community’s needs,” said Joe Collier, president, Mainsail Lodging & Development. “Given the explosive growth of the Wiregrass area and the commitment of Pasco County, we think this project is poised to exceed all expectations.”

In addition to the hotel, phase one of the project will consist of a 98,000-square-foot indoor sports facility which will accommodate basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, gymnastics and dance competitions, along with a double sports field and event lawn, an amphitheater, running and biking trails. The dedicated sports facilities will be managed by RADDSports, a sports development management company headquartered in Jonesboro, Florida.
