TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2026) – Mainsail Lodging & Development has assumed management of the Spartanburg Marriott, a full-service, downtown hotel in South Carolina. The management agreement took effect Feb. 4.

Located in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, the nine-story hotel offers 247 guest rooms and suites, including Governor’s and Presidential Suites, along with extensive amenities designed to serve business, group, and leisure travelers. Featuring more than 30,000 square feet of dynamic meeting and event space across 25 unique venues, including two landmark ballrooms, the property represents an extraordinary gathering place designed to host events of meaningful scale and impact. The venue is further complemented by more than three acres of outdoor event space, creating a rare indoor-outdoor experience ideal for receptions, activations, and large signature events. As a flagship venue in Upstate South Carolina, this one-of-a-kind destination reflects the region’s continued growth and ambition to deliver premier hospitality and event experiences.

“We’re pleased to welcome the Spartanburg Marriott into Mainsail’s growing portfolio of managed properties,” said Joe Collier, President of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “As a trusted hotel management partner, our leadership team has been on property for full immersion, working closely with ownership and associates to understand the hotel, the market, and opportunities for future enhancements.”

The Spartanburg Marriott is home to multiple dining venues, including Sparks Fire-Inspired Grill, MESH bar and lounge, and a Starbucks® Coffee Bar, providing options that appeal to both hotel guests and the local community. The property also offers a full complement of amenities, including an outdoor pool, upscale fitness center, and the exclusive M Club Lounge, providing elevated comfort and personalized service for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members.

Positioned as a cornerstone of downtown Spartanburg, the hotel places guests within convenient walking distance of many of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Chapman Cultural Center, Barnet Park, Renaissance Park, Wofford College, and Converse University. This exceptional setting allows the property to serve as a vibrant crossroads where culture, education, commerce, and community seamlessly converge, further solidifying its reputation as a flagship destination and a truly one-of-a-kind gathering place in Upstate South Carolina.

“The Spartanburg Marriott is an important asset for our company and for the downtown community,” said Jimmy I. Gibbs, Majority Owner.  “As an award-winning industry leader, Mainsail brings a distinguished depth of operational expertise and brand stewardship that aligns seamlessly with the execution of our vision for the property. We are confident this collaboration will drive strong performance while further elevating the hotel’s reputation as a premier and flagship destination for business travel, meetings, and events in Spartanburg, throughout the Upstate, and across South Carolina.”

The addition of the Spartanburg Marriott further expands Mainsail’s management footprint across the Southeast and Caribbean, complementing its portfolio of branded hotels, resorts, and mixed-use hospitality projects, as well as properties currently under development in North Carolina and Georgia.
