TAMPA, Fla. (June 23, 2025) – Mainsail Lodging & Development today announced the promotion of two long-standing team members into key leadership positions, reinforcing the company’s commitment to internal growth and strategic excellence across its expanding portfolio of boutique hotels and resort properties.

Brandon Marshall

Brandon Marshall, VP Sales & Marketing

Brandon Marshall, who has served as Corporate Director of Sales for the past nine years, has been promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In his new role, Marshall will lead the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies for Mainsail’s entire portfolio, focusing on maximizing revenue opportunities, cultivating top talent, and contributing to the feasibility and planning of future projects.

Marshall joined Mainsail in 2013 as the opening Director of Sales for the award-winning Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, and brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the role. Prior to joining Mainsail, he held sales and catering leadership positions with Marriott International, Wyndham Hotels, and Harvard University. He steps into the role following the retirement of industry veteran Norwood Smith, who served with distinction at Mainsail for 13 years and was instrumental in its success.

Rhonda Mestler, Senior Director of Commercial Strategy

Rhonda Mestler, formerly the Corporate Director of Revenue, has been elevated to Senior Director of Commercial Strategy. Mestler will oversee all revenue-generating functions across the company, including eCommerce, reservations, revenue management, and front office operations. Her focus will be on optimizing the performance of Mainsail’s commercial systems while ensuring a seamless and guest-centric experience throughout the customer journey.

Since joining Mainsail in 2010 as Revenue Manager, Mestler has played a key role in advancing the company’s revenue strategy. With nearly 15 years at Mainsail and prior experience in sales and revenue management roles with Hilton and Omni Hotels & Resorts, she brings deep expertise and operational insight to the newly created position.

“Brandon and Rhonda represent the kind of talent we’re proud to cultivate – smart, strategic leaders who understand our company culture and the evolving hospitality landscape,” said Joe Collier, President and Founder of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “Their institutional knowledge and proven track records make them ideally suited to lead us into our next phase of growth.”

Mainsail Lodging & Development continues to expand its collection of distinctive hospitality properties throughout the Southeast U.S. and Caribbean, including the Epicurean Hotels in Tampa and Atlanta, Luminary Hotel & Co. in Fort Myers, and Hotel Forty Five in Macon, Georgia.
