New Leadership in Place for Finance, Facilities, Human Resources Departments

TAMPA, Fla. (October 24, 2017) – Mainsail Lodging & Development announced today the promotions of Nan Feng to vice president of finance, and Fred Nalls to corporate director of facilities, and the rehiring of Vanessa Paul as corporate director of human resources. The three have assumed their new positions on the executive team of the Tampa-based hospitality company, which develops and operates lodging products in the southeastern United States and the Caribbean. Mainsail’s portfolio of properties includes Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, a private island resort in the British Virgin Islands; Mainsail Beach Inn, a boutique beachfront hotel on Anna Maria Island, Florida; the food-focused Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, Florida; and Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club opening November 2017 on Anna Maria Island, Florida.

For the past four years, Nan Feng has served as director of finance for Epicurean Hotel and expanded his corporate responsibilities to include regional director of finance. In his new role as vice president, Nan will oversee the areas of finance, project accounting and hotel operational accounting. Much of Feng’s 14-year finance career was spent in the Marriott family. Fluent in both Mandarin and English, Feng holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and marketing from Arizona State University.

Fred Nalls joined Mainsail in 1999 to oversee Mainsail’s first property, The Suites at Mainsail Village, and the original PricewaterhouseCoopers building, which is now owned by Gramercy Property Trust. In his new corporate role, Nalls is responsible for all of Mainsail Lodging & Development’s building assets as well as buildings maintained by Mainsail via contract.

Vanessa Paul returns to Mainsail Lodging & Development as corporate director of human resources. Paul served as human resources manager at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina shortly after its opening, and has more than 18 years of experience working in human resources. In her new role, Paul will be responsible for developing and managing all human resource and training aspects of the pre-opening and opening of newly constructed hotels within Mainsail’s portfolio. Paul has a post graduate diploma from the University of Westminster in London.

“We’re excited about Vanessa’s return to the Mainsail family and her addition to the dynamic team of professionals we’re building to ensure our success as we grow,” said Joe Collier, president of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “Nan, Fred and Vanessa have already proven themselves invaluable to our corporate team and will no doubt set even higher standards in their new positions.”
