Hotel Forty Five Hosts Nitrograss Band for 2023 Georgia Tour Date

Hailing from North Carolina, NITROGRASS Brings Bluegrass and Good Vibes to Macon

MACON, Ga. (Dec. 15, 2022) – Hotel Forty Five, a historic boutique hotel situated amongst Macon’s vibrant downtown area, will host NITROGRASS as the only Georgia stop on its early 2023 tour. Presented by Mainsail Lodging & Development, the hotel will offer a free performance on Sunday, January 15 complete with room packages, creating the perfect Southern getaway in the iconic music city.

Consisting of members Charles Wood, Darren Nicholson and Colby Lane, NITROGRASS will bring its carefree yet exciting atmosphere on tour in early 2023. Based in North Carolina, the Bluegrass-inspired band provides sonically unique and visually appealing acoustic performances. The percussive banjo of two-time national champion Charles Wood lays the foundation for the band’s unique style. Merging Scruggs-style banjo with rhythmic motifs reminiscent of ZZ Top and the Allman Brothers, Woods’ playing is melodic in its sensibility with pure, driving syncopation. Woods has previously played on The Late Show with David Letterman, A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor and at the New Yorker Festival with actor and accomplished banjo player Steve Martin, Earl Scruggs, Pete Wernick and Tony Ellis in 2005.  Darren Nicholson is a bluegrass and Americana musician based in Haywood County, in the mountains of western North Carolina. A Grammy nominee and a recipient of multiple International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, Darren has appeared countless times on WSM’s Grand Ole Opry, at the Ryman Auditorium, CMT, GAC, and many of the world’s most famous venues and networks. Currently, he records and tours as a full-time, founding member of Balsam Range, with all sorts of collaborative efforts each year. Darren is also renowned as a solo artist, session musician, and songwriter.

Hotel Forty Five will host NITROGRASS at Hightales Rooftop Bar atop the sixth floor from 6-8 p.m., offering Macon’s iconic skyline as a backdrop to the band’s spirited repertoire. Guests and locals can gather for a pre-show dinner with Southern revival-inspired food at Loom and enjoy specialty cocktails all night long at the rooftop bar.
