WHO: Hotel Forty Five, downtown Macon’s historic boutique hotel
WHAT: This October, Hotel Forty Five is brewing up a terror-ific season of festive fall events, from fair-inspired food fun to spooky rooftop thrills. Guests are invited to begin the month with tasty delights at Loom and Hightales for Downtown Macon’s Fair Food Frenzy; enjoy trick-or-treating and spooktacular treats at Reckon Coffee & Wine Bar; and top it all off with the Sip & Scare event on the sixth-floor Hightales Rooftop Bar, featuring a screening of the original classic horror film, Halloween, paired with delicious cocktails.
Fair Food Frenzy (Oct. 4-6) – Hotel Forty Five is serving up nostalgia at Loom and Hightales Rooftop Bar along with various local food and retail vendors with a selection of fair-themed food and drinks including Sweet & Salty sweet potato fries with caramel, marshmallow fluff, brown sugar and cinnamon sprinkles; Blue Forty Five fries with blue cheese sauce and fresh blue cheese crumbles; Big Mac Fries with ground beef, shredded lettuce, chopped pickle, diced onions, shredded cheddar cheese and garlic mayo; and Mexican Street Corn with sour cream mayo mixed with lime juice, cotija cheese sprinkles, ancho jalapeño seasoning and the option to add Flaming Hot Cheetos.
Trick-or-Treating (Oct. 31, 5 to 8 p.m.) – Calling all ghosts and goblins! Come dressed in your spookiest costumes for a fun night of trick-or-treating through downtown Macon. Hotel Forty Five will hand out candy and serve up spooktacular treats at Reckon Coffee & Wine Bar.
Sip & Scare (Oct. 31, 8 to 11 p.m.) – Take Halloween to new heights with the Sip & Scare event at Hightales Rooftop Bar. Dress in your best costume to enjoy a screening of Halloween while sipping on delicious cocktails in a spooky setting. Specialty cocktails will include Witches Brew (Midori, Cointreau, lemon juice); Vampire’s Kiss (Wheatley Vodka, Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur, cranberry juice, lemon juice); and Skeleton Key (Four Roses Bourbon, St. Germain Liqueur, lemon juice, angostura bitters), available at both Loom and Hightales Rooftop Bar.
Seasonal Cocktails Available Throughout October
Fall in Love (Loom only) Myers Rum, Frangelico, simple syrup, and half/half sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg.
A Piece of Pie (Hightales Rooftop Bar only) Meukow Cognac, lemon, apple cider, simple syrup, spices, and housemade whipped cream.
