Downtown Macon Boutique Hotel Recognized with National and Local Awards
MACON, Ga. (Oct. 20, 2022) – Hotel Forty Five has recently been recognized for two awards on a local and national scale. The restored historic boutique hotel in Downtown Macon has been awarded Tribute Portfolio’s Best Hotel Opening of 2021 by Marriott International as well as the recipient of NewTown Macon’s 360 Degrees Award.
“Our team is honored to be recognized with these two meaningful awards,” said Stephan Amesoeder, General Manager of Hotel Forty Five. “From the second we opened our doors, we made it a priority to make this space a place where both locals and visitors, guests and employees, could call home.”
At the Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio General Manager and Sales Leader Conference held in El Paso, Texas on October 11, Hotel Forty Five was awarded the 2021 Tribute Portfolio Best Hotel Opening. A handpicked collection of indie-spirited hotels, Tribute Portfolio hotels embody captivating design while creating vibrant social scenes for guests and locals alike. With Tribute Portfolio hotels located all around the world, Hotel Forty Five’s opening was a standout due to the support of the Macon community, dedicated staff and the detail-orientated revitalization of the historic property.
In addition to the Tribute Portfolio recognition, Hotel Forty Five has been recognized by NewTown Macon – a non-profit public-private partnership leading a community-wide movement to restore downtown Macon to its original beauty and cultivate a prosperous city. Each year, NewTown Macon recognizes businesses, organizations and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional passion and commitment to the revitalization of Downtown Macon through its Partners in Progress awards on October 19. This year, Hotel Forty Five has been selected as the recipient of the 360 Degrees Award which honors a development that is improving all aspects of Downtown. The winner is selected based on a development’s commitment to all three of NewTown Macon’s focus areas: increasing residents, growing jobs and creating a sense of place.
Hotel Forty Five opened in late 2021 on the iconic 45-degree angle formed by Cherry and First Streets and Cotton Avenue, a city design that originally served as transportation of cotton to and from the river. Part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio and owned and developed by Mainsail Lodging & Development and IDP Properties, every corner of Hotel Forty Five tells a story of the area’s historical significance. Guests can enjoy colorful, engaging art dedicated to Macon’s most memorable influencers, original, preserved architecture and of course, Southern hospitality. The hotel offers three on-site dining outlets – Loom, the hotel’s signature Southern revival-inspired restaurant, Hightales Rooftop Bar located atop the sixth floor with sweeping views of Macon, craft cocktails and small plates, and Reckon Coffee & Wine Bar offering grab-and-go breakfast items and pastries, coffee, wine and more.
