Server Assistant/ Food Runner

Our Servers Assistant/Food Runner is responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Hotel Forty Five service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development.  Server Assistant/Food Runner supports front of the house service staff to ensure all areas function effectively. Responsible for general table maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant in accordance to specification, in a courteous and efficient manner. Transportation of prepared food from Kitchen to designated outlet as well as retrieving of dirty dishes.

Essential Functions

  • Serves guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service
  • Responsible for setting tables, serving food orders and removing used plate ware and utensils
  • Food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot
  • Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experience
  • Polish glass ware, utensils, organize clean and soiled linen
  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests
  • Follow and complete procedures as they relate to In Room Dining (IRD), as needed
  • Organize items and needs to be brought to room based on order, as needed
  • Any other duties as requested by management

Qualification Standards

 

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Corrected vision to normal range
  • Ability to work long hours as needed
