Job Summary:

Oxbow Retail Associate is responsible for greeting, receiving and serving guests of Oxbow Bar & Grill by assisting with selection of products from the Oxbow/Boaters Republic Retail Space.  Retail sales associates drive sales through engagement of guests, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge. Assists in monthly inventory, maintains the sales floor, and ensuring exceptional personalized service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance to the Management Company of Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Essential Functions

  • Greets and receives Oxbow Bar & Grill guests in a welcoming manner
  • Responds to guests’ questions regarding retail products and restaurant information
  • Responsible to deliver the highest customer service by helping guests, addressing their questions and comments
  • Helping guests find specific items, providing refunds and resolving complaints/issues
  • Directs guests by escorting them to racks and counters
  • Provides personalized guest service through engagement and excellent product knowledge
  • Documents sales by creating or updating guest profile records
  • Manages financial transactions in retail point of sale system
  • Processes payments by totaling purchases, processing cash, room charges, gift cards, credit and debit cards
  • Alerts management of potential security issues
  • Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise
  • Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest
  • Assists with setting up new displays, ensuring that store is clean and orderly and making sure shelves are stocked
  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Previous retail sales experience preferred in the hospitality or related industry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Meeting sales goals and selling to customer needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

NOTICE:  The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  All associates must always realize this fact and be aware that it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands.  In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must always be projected.
