The On-Call Banquet Server will be responsible for the flawless delivery of all banquet events to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Tribute Portfolio standards under the franchise of Mainsail Lodging & Development. This is an On- Call position.

Banquet Server Duties/Qualifications

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and be willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote teamwork. This will include early mornings/AM, evenings/PM, weekends and holidays. 
  • Maintain knowledge of each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method; communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Food & Beverage Manager or kitchen; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
  • The Banquet Server serves guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods.
  • Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations.
  • Comply with Mainsail Policy’s from the employee handbook.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • The position consists of mobility during the shift and continuous standing.

 

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology I.e. tablets, iPads

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Corrected vision to normal range
  • Long hours sometimes required
