Job Summary: The IT/AV Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance, support and advice to hotel staff and guests using computers, peripherals and audiovisual equipment. The IT-AV tech will install, configure, prepare, arrange, operate, diagnose, inspect maintain, and repair equipment such as laptops, desktops, point of sales, microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting, sound and other property equipment. Trains assigned personnel in simple equipment operation. Works closely with the IT/AV Manager in managing and optimizing IT resources in support of the business operations in multiple properties in the Atlanta area, and other cities in Georgia when needed.
Receives requests for computer and audiovisual equipment in conference rooms, administrative offices, F&B outlets and other hotel areas
Sets up and tests equipment, then operates equipment or hands control over to designated employees.
Configure and install IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and printers
Provides technical support, advice and suggestions to staff regarding the preparation and use of IT and AV materials for their jobs, meetings and conferences.
Tracks inventory of equipment, technology devices, and orders necessary supplies.
Facilitates needed equipment repairs, which may include shipment of malfunctioning equipment to outside supplier and rental of temporary replacement equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to listen effectively, clarify concerns, clearly convey information to guests, vendors, staff
Proficient in computer systems used with multimedia productions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to multitask and remain organized.
Ability to perform minor repairs to equipment.
Excellent interpersonal skills in a variety of situations, including stressful and timeline driven deadlines.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in IT / AV related field preferred.
At least two years of experience in the operation of computers, audiovisual and video electronics.
Preferred experience in the hotel/hospitality industry
