We are seeking a Human Resources summer intern to work in our Corporate Office this summer! They will be working with the HR department to execute HR projects and initiatives to support our business goals.  This is a great opportunity for someone currently pursuing a degree in HR Administration or a related field.  You will learn a plethora of human resource knowledge and hands on experience to add to your resume. You will be exposed to main functions of Human Resources including benefits, policy, HRIS, and others.  The internship is a 30 hour per week position starting between June until the end of September and it reports to the Corporate Human Resources Manager.  The HR Intern will work directly as an assistant to our HR manager with administrative tasks as well as HR projects.

 

What you will do as an intern in the Mainsail HR department:

  • Help us review compensation data for roles across the organization to ensure market-competitiveness and promote a consistent logic to compensation structure companywide.
  • Compile compensation data from multiple online resources to help us understand market-competitive compensation rates for our jobs.
  • Evaluate jobs and creates job descriptions including determining FLSA classification. Evaluation includes determining appropriate salary, grade, and title and/or working with managers to discuss their recommendations.

 

Requirements

  • Current college or graduate student (must have completed at least sophomore year of Bachelor’s degree) and be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related.
  • Have a general knowledge of business fundamentals and organizational practices and theories.
  • Able to work independently, and demonstrate ownership & accountability.
  • Enjoys working with numerical data.
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations involving the use of formulas, equations and descriptive statistics.
  • Skill and proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and solid organization skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to high quality and service excellence.
  • Available to work part-time for about 10-12 weeks, June – Sep for a total of about 300 hours.

Education Requirements:
