Housekeeping Utility Associate

Job Summary: The Housekeeping Utility Associate will be responsible for performing interior and exterior tasks that promote the cleanliness and organization of the property. This role will support both the housekeeping and engineering teams in their daily functions.

Essential Functions

  • Acknowledge guests in all public spaces with a warm and friendly greeting
  • Perform duties to ensure outdoor and indoor public areas as well as back of house space are kept clean, in accordance with an operational checklist
  • Regularly assist housekeeping and engineering teams with special projects that involve cleaning, assembling equipment, and organizing materials
  • Assist in emptying all exterior trash including pool, front ramp, and parking garage areas as needed
  • Regularly use a pressure washer to maintain outdoor space
  • Regularly mop and sanitize restrooms and back of house corridors
  • Report any property physical, mechanical, or aesthetic issues to management
  • Assist with quarterly housekeeping inventory requirements
  • Break down pallets and boxes and remove trash/debris as necessary to keep hotel service docks tidy
  • Follow scheduled shifts and follow break and lunch requirements
  • Ability to communicate with manager on inventory needs e.g. cleaning supplies and products
  • Respect all guests, team members, and management by maintaining a positive, friendly attitude
  • Establish and maintain a high level of communication with key operating departments
  • Maintain guest confidentiality following all hotel procedures
  • Report any suspicious activity or unusual items in room
  • Report any irregular behavior from guests in public areas and/or in rooms
  • Ability to take initiative and handle assignments with limited supervision
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbook

Hotel Performance

Ensure successful performance by supporting our staff and caring for hotel spaces to promote our GSS cleanliness metric as well as staff engagement.

 

 

 

 

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to squat and bend
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Corrected vision to normal range
  • Ability to work long hours as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors for an extended period of time, year round
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
