JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring guest and employee satisfaction
  • Human resources
  • Financial performance
  • Sales and revenue generation
  • Delivering a return on investment to both management company and property ownership.
  • Engages and remains active in the community representing the Interests of the Karol Hotel and its owners
  • Ensures implementation of Mainsail’s and the Tribute Portfolio service strategies and initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations, increased profit and market share.
  • Holds departmental team accountable for strategy execution, and guides their individual professional development
  • Represents Mainsail and the Tribute Portfolio values in all leadership actions

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

 

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Hospitality or business degree preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel operations
  • Proven leadership experience required
  • Must possess Florida State valid drivers’ license – Driving records must be within acceptable insurance requirements and must maintain clear driving records throughout her/his employment with Mainsail Lodging & Development

  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in fast pace work environment
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must be effective in handling guests issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by staff and guests
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions

 

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

 

Essential:

  • Ensure compliance of Mainsail Lodging & Development’s Core Values
  • Ability to negotiate outside vendor contracts for better pricing and terms (housekeeping services, landscaping, pool, laundry, security, after hours call services, etc)
  • Work with the Revenue Management and Sales & Marketing teams to create and market special rates and promotion to maximize occupancy and rates
  • Coordinate unit repairs and billing back owners quarterly
  • Set operations budget and review monthly/set capex budget
  • Conduct staff’s interviews and follow hiring procedures according to Human Resources Department
  • Conduct employee performance appraisals according to Mainsail Lodging & Development standards
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all staff according to Mainsail Lodging & Development standards.
