Reports to: Director of Operations
The historic Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club is looking to hire a General Manager in Jackson, New Hampshire, as part of Mainsail Lodging & Development’s expanding portfolio. A respite for visitors to the mountains of Carter Notch, this timeless 96-room hotel has enchanted generations of guests with its captivating views, idyllic location, 9-hole golf course and award-winning cuisine at The Eagle Landing Tavern.
Built in 1879 and established in 1916, the iconic hotel will be undergoing a $13M renovation over the next two years. The General Manager will lead the property and team through the renovations while the hotel remains open. The upcoming enhancements will include a complete interior and exterior renovation, featuring a new kitchen, restaurant and bar, addition of an elevator, fitness center, spa treatment rooms as well as a 3,000 square foot standalone event venue with a new banquet kitchen and six employee housing units. All guest rooms and suites will be completely renovated in the second year. These significant capital investments will enable the property to affiliate with a recognized, worldwide brand in the luxury lifestyle segment.
Eagle Mountain House operates all year as a host for weddings, summer leisure travel, corporate retreats, fall leaf peepers and winter sports enthusiasts. In addition to being in the heart of the White Mountains and all that it has to offer, Jackson is also home to the Jackson Ski Touring Foundation (Jackson XC), with a 100-kilometer trail network that runs directly in front of the hotel.
The ideal candidate is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys activities such as hiking, golf, fly fishing and skiing. Experience with both independent and brand-affiliated hotels is preferred.
The start date for this position will be in early November 2022 to allow for a healthy transition period with the current General Manager, who is retiring after an impressive 40-year hospitality career.
