General Cashier/Group Billing

Essential Functions

  • Maintain property house banks
  • Verify daily employee cash drops and compile deposits
  • Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified
  • Audit cashier banks periodically, according to SOPs
  • Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all cash variances, according to SOP
  • Maintain neat and organized files
  • Ensure that all billings go out with supporting backup for all charges in a timely manner
  • Audit all charges posted to master accounts for accuracy
  • Accurately post and apply payments to customer accounts
  • Ensure method of payment is received for all group and events prior to arrival
  • Handle all customer inquiries in a timely, efficient manner
  • Attend all pre-con meetings for special billing instructions
  • Complete general reconciliations
  • Maintain open communication with all departments
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to take initiative and handle assignments with limited supervision
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbook
  • Complete other duties as assigned


Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, or some college
  • Previous hotel experience required
  • Previous general cashier experience preferred
  • Previous hotel billing experience preferred
  • Previous Marriott systems experience preferred (CI/TY, Opera, etc.)
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Outlook, and have a reasonable level of general computer skills
  • Must be able to communicate with both internal and external guests
  • Available Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends
