Job Summary:

Catering Service Manager will be responsible for assisting the banquet manager and banquet personnel with their everyday operational materials and items to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Autograph Collection standards under the franchise of Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Essential Functions

  • Follow all Event Orders and Floorplans to ensure accuracy when setting a event.
  • Have complete inventory of all in house equipment, clean, prepare and store equipment in a professional manner.
  • Complete quarterly equipment inventory
  • Report any damaged or misused equipment to Banquet Manager as it happens.
  • Keep all equipment clean and in working order.
  • Assist with banquet function of the hotel to include set up of tables, chairs, stage, dancefloor ect
  • Assist with cleaning of all function space through- out the property.
  • Follow daily tasks sheets and signed off when completed by banquet set up staff.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team with limited supervision.
  • Train Banquet set up personnel and banquet captains and ensure each new employee can use equipment in a safe manner.
  • Schedule Banquet Set up staff according to Banquet Event Orders
  • Ensure Banquet Set up staff follows scheduled shifts, breaks and lunch requirements.
  • Report any light outages, broken equipment, or room disparities to manager.
  • Assist in fixing any damaged or broken equipment.
  • Assist guest with any special requests.
  • Ability to communicate with manager on inventory needs when we have multiple functions, i.e. additional chairs, tables, and banquet linens
  • Attend BEO meeting when banquet manager is unavailable.
  • Keep track of all events happening with in the property and welcome guests to events assigned
  • Respect all guests, team members, and management by maintaining a positive, friendly attitude
  • Maintain guest confidentiality following all hotel procedures
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbook
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of work area such as closets, carts, and housekeeping office
  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.

Hotel Performance

  • Ensure successful performance assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on the GSS according to Marriott

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work long hours as needed
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.
