Bartender – Skybox Rooftop Bar

The soon-to-open Residence Inn by Marriott® Tampa Wesley Chapel is located on the 120-acre campus of the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Complex of Pasco County.  Our hotel provides more space and more flexibility, so our guests can travel the way they love to live. 128 spacious suites with full kitchens, expansive outdoor spaces, an on-site market, and a robust, daily hot breakfast create a homelike atmosphere. The Skybox, the only rooftop bar in Wesley Chapel, features spectacular views, refreshing beverages, and small plates.

Skybox Bartenders will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with Marriott standards under the franchise of Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Status: Non- Exempt — $9/ hour + gratuities & Benefits 

Essential Functions:

  • Curate guests’ bar experience by making recommendations
  • Knowledge of all beverages to include liquors and wines
  • Enjoy having FUN in a sports themed atmosphere
  • Serves guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service
  • Knowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Mainsail Management
  • Have necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, any bar tools, etc.
  • Ability to pair wines with food
  • Light food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot
  • Knowledge of all menu items to include prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments
  • Collect payment for food and beverages served
  • Follow TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol
  • Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experience
  • Follow cash handling procedures, and must be able to explain shortages and overages
  • Maintain bar area
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.

 

Qualification Standards:

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Corrected vision to normal range
  • Ability to work long hours as needed
