The Banquet Server Captain will be responsible for the flawless delivery of all banquet events to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance to the Autograph Collection standards under the franchise of Mainsail. This is a Part Time to Full time position.

What you’ll do – 

  • Set up functions within the banquet space as well as other areas within the hotel as written on the Banquet Event Order.
  • Set up to include moving tables and chairs and dressing chairs and or tables with linen, decorating the rooms with props, varied decor and centerpieces.
  • Set up will also include the placement of dishes, silverware, glasses, plates, cups/mugs, linen / napkins and condiments.
  • Pre-set tables to include but not limited to water and or salads.
  • Serve meals to the guest in a professional hospitable manner making sure the meals are delivered to the correct recipient keeping in mind any allergies and specific meal requests.
  • Ability to clean up the function area after the event has ended to include clearing the tables of all dishware, glassware, silverware.  Removal of all linen and centerpieces / décor.
  • Maintain assigned area during function however maintain an atmosphere of teamwork and assist in areas needed within the banquet event.
  • Follow local laws regarding consumption of alcohol for guests and check for validity of drinking age.


Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology I.e. tablets, iPads

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Corrected vision to normal range
  • Long hours sometimes required
